New tool turns decorating goals, room details and shopping constraints into editable prompts for ChatGPT, Gemini and other AI assistants.
Austin, Texas Sep 29, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Urban Alcove has launched a free AI Home Decor Prompt Builder designed to help people describe their decorating goals clearly before turning to an AI assistant. The interactive tool takes a visitor's choices and creates an editable prompt for planning a room, exploring a style, finding products, or comparing options.
A person may know that a room feels unfinished, but not know how to ask AI for a useful plan. A broad request such as "help me decorate my room" leaves out details that change the answer: what the person already owns, what they hope to buy, the size of the space, their style preferences, and their budget. Urban Alcove built the tool to help visitors put those details into words.
Visitors begin by choosing what they want to accomplish, from understanding a room and planning colors to checking scale, searching for decor, and comparing products. They can choose a guided task or describe their own. The builder then incorporates the room, preferred style, shopping target, budget, and any measurements, priorities, or reference links the visitor provides. The resulting prompt can be edited and copied for use in an AI assistant. Visitors who want to discuss room or product photos add them in the AI tool rather than uploading them to the builder.
"People often have a clear feeling about what they want from a space, even when they cannot name the style or write a detailed prompt," said Andrew T. Lyons, owner and operator of Urban Alcove. "We wanted to make that first step easier, so a question about a room becomes specific enough to explore useful ideas and make more informed choices."
The tool includes 79 streamlined guided tasks organized around seven decorating goals. It is free to use at https://urbanalcove.com/pages/ai-home-decor-prompt-builder. Urban Alcove has also published a companion article on how to use AI for home decor shopping at https://urbanalcove.com/blogs/alcove-living/how-to-use-ai-for-home-decor-shopping, along with a free, copyable 100-prompt PDF linked from both pages.

The queue outside Bar Leone isn’t just for its acclaimed cocktails. More than a few guests are making a pilgrimage for Leone’s signature smoked olives – cheekily called “the world’s best olives (maybe)” – and its mortadella sandwich, with layers of thinly sliced mortadella, creamy whipped ricotta and tangy pickled chillies sandwiched between crispy focaccia. Up the road at sister bar Montana, the pulled-pork sliders have their own following. Not long ago, bar food in Hong Kong usually meant a...

When designer and entrepreneur Brunello Cucinelli announced that he would be releasing a documentary about his life directed by Oscar winner Giuseppe Tornatore, it caught many by surprise. Titled Brunello, Il Visionario Garbato (Brunello: The Gracious Visionary), the film combines interviews and real-life footage with re-enactments to show Cucinelli’s childhood and his early days as a striving entrepreneur and designer, long before he became known as the “king of cashmere”. Works of this type...

While the Tang dynasty (618-907) is synonymous with a golden age of Chinese arts and culture, its glittering reign was fractured by one of history’s most devastating civil wars. Today, the life and work of the revered Tang dynasty calligrapher Yan Zhenqing, a key figure in that 1,200-year-old tragedy, are capturing the attention of millions, partly thanks to an AI microdrama. The series titled Yanbian Qingmei, which roughly translates to Green Plums by the Inkstone, has accumulated more than 100...
