Markham, Ontario Oct 7, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - Booking a massage in Markham, Ontario usually means choosing between a spa that offers relaxation services and a clinic that offers clinical services. Serenity AcuSpa has built its Denison Street location around not making that choice: the same address houses Registered Massage Therapists, licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners, Japanese scalp specialists and facial treatment programmes, with sessions that can be combined or booked separately.
The centre operates from the first floor of Can Sports Center at 1443 Denison Street, open six days a week from 10:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Practitioners include Registered Massage Therapists, registered with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario, and licensed Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioners. Both are regulated professions in Ontario with publicly searchable registers. Serenity AcuSpa states that RMT sessions are covered under most extended health plans, though coverage depends on the individual policy.
Serenity AcuSpa's therapeutic series centres on deep tissue massage, which uses strong, focused pressure into the deeper layers of fascia and connective tissue to release long-term tightness. The same series includes Thai herbal compress work, heated bamboo massage, cupping and scraping techniques drawn from TCM, and Ashiatsu back walking, in which the therapist uses controlled foot pressure to reach deep fascia. Clients across the Greater Toronto Area, including those searching for deep tissue massage Toronto, travel to the Markham location for that range.
A separate relaxation series covers oil and aroma massage, hot stone, lava shell, Himalayan salt stone and body scrub treatments. A third stream focuses on postpartum recovery and women's meridian wellness.
"Most people end up booking their massage at one place, their acupuncture somewhere else and their facial at a third," said Xiaofang Chen, Founder, Serenity AcuSpa. "We built this so someone can work with practitioners who actually talk to each other about what a client needs, rather than starting over in three different waiting rooms."
On the TCM side, the centre provides traditional acupuncture, facial acupuncture and herbal medicine support. It also runs a smoke-free moxibustion system that uses infrared technology for controlled temperature rather than burning dried mugwort, removing the smoke that has historically limited moxibustion's use indoors. Moxibustion is also offered as a 30-minute add-on to massage sessions, alongside pearl eye therapy and ear treatments.
The Japanese scalp care programme begins with scalp analysis, followed by treatment plans across basic, efficacy and advanced tiers. Facial services include POLA Japanese systems, SkinCeuticals treatments and hydration-focused programmes, each preceded by skin analysis.
Every service starts with a consultation rather than a fixed protocol. For massage clients, that means discussing where tension sits and how long it has been building before any hands-on work begins. For acupuncture clients, intake covers sleep, digestion and energy patterns, alongside traditional tongue and pulse observation.
Serenity AcuSpa does not make claims about treating, curing, or diagnosing medical conditions. Clients with existing health concerns are encouraged to consult their physician and to disclose relevant history at intake so practitioners can adjust their approach.
Appointments can be booked online or by phone at (437) 298-5582. Full massage therapy services details are available at Serenity AcuSpa.

There is something quite deliciously subversive about a freaky shoe. Feet of course already hold a hint of perversion – some people are really into them, while others find them repellent. But shod those feet in a shoe that people can find both compelling and strange? Well actually, that’s fashion catnip. Visceral proof can be found in those who have made the freaky shoe their signature, such as the aristocratic, enigmatic and entirely iconic Daphne Guinness, who always wears a pair of...
