West Virginia teen’s dream of strutting down the catwalk for New York Fashion Week has become a reality. The 14 year old got to do not one, but 3 catwalks in the Big Apple


New York City, New York Apr 3, 2023 (Issuewire.com) - Mya Moretto from Princeton, Mercer County, West Virginia is finally able to say that "I finally did it and I can't believe it" with a life-changing success. At the age of only 14 years, this talented and striving persona has accomplished her dream to participate in New York Fashion Week with nothing but her sheer will. Moretto, who was diagnosed with Narcolepsy with cataplexy, is now a top New York City fashion model and an ardent advocate for narcolepsy and mental health awareness.

Life took a toll on her from a young age yet nothing can stop the indomitable spirit of Morretto. Even though she was bullied from childhood, it never deemed her self-esteem. She joined the universal international awareness pageant on December 11, 2022, and later got crowned as the new Teen Miss Universal International 2023.

Following this, she was invited to the 2023 New York Fashion Week "fashion with a mission". She walked for "stylo de lazo" and also for Rojen Morris's "Blood Moon collection" "Red Empire Collection which were designed to promote awareness for american heart association, women suffering from domestic violence respectively. She is looking forward to participating in West Virginia fashion Week on May 27, this West Virginia native has proven that being diagnosed with narcolepsy is not a hindrance to her success.
