Dean Elali and the Lab That Started as an Emergency Response

Nov 4, 2026

Dearborn, Michigan Nov 4, 2026 (Issuewire.com) - A Need That Could Not Wait

In 2018, Dean Elali founded OSP Health, known today as Vibra Health Lab. At the time, it was a smaller piece of a larger business built on sales partnerships with national companies like AT&T and Xfinity.

Then COVID-19 hit Southeast Michigan, and testing became hard to find. People needed answers fast, and the usual channels were overwhelmed. OSP Health scaled rapidly to meet that demand, eventually serving thousands of patients across the region.

Elali has described that period as a test of whether the business could move as fast as the need in front of it. "A platform is only as good as its ability to respond when people actually need it," he said. "That's when you find out if what you built was real."

What the Moment Reveals

The speed of that response was not an accident of timing. It came from how OSP was already structured: a network built to organize people and resources quickly, first for retail sales, then applied to a health service.

Elali has pointed to this as the clearest example of his view on entrepreneurship. "I don't think about a business as one thing we sell," he said. "I think about it as a structure. Once you have a structure that works, you can point it at a new problem."

That thinking traces back to how OSP itself started: Dean was asked to help organize and scale a face-to-face marketing effort for AT&T across more than fifty retail dealers. He built the structure, then took it over and launched OSP in June 2011. The pattern of organizing people around a need, then growing the structure to meet demand, shows up again in how OSP Health responded to the pandemic.

From Emergency Response to Permanent Service

What began as a response to a crisis did not shut down when the crisis eased. Vibra Health Lab operates today as a full-service clinical laboratory, offering health diagnostics as part of what OSP provides.

Elali has said that outcome was not something he predicted at the start. "We weren't trying to build a lab," he said. "We were trying to help people get answers. The lab is what that turned into once we saw how much it mattered."

That distinction matters to how he talks about the company overall. OSP's marketing arm sells sales infrastructure and distribution reach to corporate partners like AT&T, NRG, Xfinity, Vivint Home Security, and Verizon. OSP Health exists for a different reason: to give people direct access to diagnostics when they need it.

The Pattern Repeats at OSP

Elali has said he sees the same pattern in how OSP develops people into business owners. A person starts in one role, shows they can organize and scale what is in front of them, and the structure grows around what they prove they can do.

"We are in the people-helping-people business," Elali has said. "That's true whether we're talking about someone building a sales territory or a patient getting a result back faster than they expected."

OSP also hosts quarterly leadership conferences that bring in business leaders and high-level performers, among them Daymond John, Mike Tyson, Robert Saleh, and Tim Grover. Elali has said the purpose of those conferences is the same purpose behind OSP Health's early response: showing people what a platform looks like when it is built to meet a real need, not just to generate income.

"The question I ask is always the same," he said. "Does this help someone get somewhere they couldn't get on their own? If the answer is yes, we build it. If it's no, it doesn't matter how good it sounds."

How corn is being elevated in a-maize-ing creations at Hong Kong restaurants and bars

The hottest ingredient of 2026? It is not a new breed of truffle, chocolate-fed Wagyu, nor caviar on pearl spoons. Instead, this ingredient is far from new, dating back about 9,000 years: corn. How Amsterdam’s Crackdown on Overtourism Is Reshaping the Market for Tour Operators

Amsterdam has spent the past several years rolling out some of the most forceful anti-overtourism measures of any European capital. For travel professionals selling Amsterdam as a destination, these are not cosmetic changes. They signal a structural shift in what kind of tourism the city is willing to accommodate.
